Our Website packages are modified and enhanced to bring as much usability to network members. But how does that set what we do apart from any other hosted website provider?
We know how to cook. We don’t just throw sugar and flour with water into a bowl and expect cake. We take care with our development to ensure we get the most out of all elements combined. Which code portions should load priority, which should wait. What images can be replaced with style rules to enable faster loading? Each component is an influential part of the whole that makes up the website, which in turn is a component that makes up the network.
The network itself is comprised of diverse websites that have the network in common, so its visitors are people of diverse interests. The network helps introduce each website to those visitors.
Is it cookie-cutter development? In a way, but with a difference. When a visitor becomes a client the prefabrications that we’ve prepared are put in place to start the website, but real developers are hands on throughout that process to ensure each site has the initial contact form set up, and sample page in place, visual editor prepared … even the time zone is set for the client. The client receives the keys for a working site – ready to start adding pages, posts, or products. Experienced developers set up the website, customize on request, contribute to the knowledge base and provide the support – and their main function is to try and work themselves out of a job. With the visual interface, theme options, and learning resources – clients that may have previously relied on developers will find there’s much more they can easily do themselves and save those developer costs.
Do we enjoy what we do? We must, because much of the development was out of pocket. And we’re still here to see it completed. We believe we’ve put together a product that is solid and affordable, and gives members an advantage in their e-presence. We believe we’ve put together a resource that grows through its members and for its members.
So, what is it we do? We pursue the building of communities.
