“What’s in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet”, and Nositeunseen hosting by any other name would still FULLY manage WordPress websites.
A recent encounter has led to some serious reflection, search, and re-evaluation. One of the creative minds behind the highly excellent Beaver Builder software expressed the thought that our use of the term “hosting” as a service we offer may in some ways be misleading. As we’ve shared in the past, the Beaver Builder application incorporates as a portion of the Nositeunseen Visual Designer for the simple reason – it is excellent. And for that reason the creative minds who have developed and delivered this product have our attention and respect. And so we have spent many hours in active contemplation and review of the possibility that “hosting” may be an inaccurate, even misleading, descriptive.
Before we continue it always bears repeating: although the Visual Designer uses a properly licensed version of Beaver Builder, it does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by FastLine Media. The same holds true with all softare components that form the network framework. However, on the other hand we cannot recommend Beaver Builder highly enough. Layman and designer alike can benefit from the too many to name here features, but their website provides a wealth of information. Visit: WPBeaverBuilder.com
Now back to our subject at hand, and our conclusion. Nositeunseen does provide hosting, and the reasons for our conclusion, and assertion, are as follows:
Reason 1: The Nositeunseen network was developed as a solution for what we perceive a recurring inequality of website hosting. Website hosts are the experts – website owners and operators for the most part are not. Yet website owners and operators are carrying the burdens of their website that require expertise. That burden takes time and focus away from their true area of expertise – their business – and often requires beyond first-budget amounts from the proceeds of their business. Our belief was that hosts can assume the responsibilities of website management in a way that does not overtax their own resources but no longer overtaxes the website operators.
Notice we did not say “owners” in that last sentence? It is because our working solution to the inequality was hosting set up more like a commercial lease. Business owners who lease office space do not have to be concerned with the mechanical function of their space – they just go ahead and use it. And budgeting is much easier as unexpected costs are no longer the risk they once and often were. And their office space was no less of an office space by reason of being leased versus purchased.
Nositeunseen manages, and makes available online, WordPress websites whose content is unique to the specific website operator and whose domain/url is unique to them as well.

Reason 2: FTP is not a mandatory feature of website hosting, and it is one we have reserved to technical support in order to enhance security through prevention and better protect all websites within the networks. However, it does not imply that the backup and exporting of one’s site is therefore unavailable. Website operators can at any time download all their site content, and upload new content, through the standard admin functions. What cannot be downloaded are the software components that comprise the theme framework or the website. The same as in a commercial lease, your furniture and products are yours while the doors, carpet and lighting remain with the property.
In order to assume the responsibilities of maintaining a website there was a neccessary restructure of some aspects of hosting. No features of hosting are removed, just shifted for better service delivery. And for the purpose of definition, website operators can access their own content for backup and export.
Reason 3: Nositeunseen is much, much more than just a website builder. It’s a supportive, interactive community providing insights and feedback on website development – and on business support and development. Currently many sites on the Internet have website builder capabilities, yet 80% of online business still fail in their first year. Obviously, more than just website building is required to accomplish the goal we hold for challenging those statistics and improving the chances of success significantly.
With the level of support and features extending beyond just the development and design of a website, Nositeunseen could not be categorized as just a website builder service.
Reason 4: Every definition of web hosting has slight differences in terms but all consistently include “Making a Web site available on the Internet” as fundamental to their definition. Nositeunseen fulfills that. And further to that, our expansion map begins with a leased VPS, scales through leased dedicated servers, and finally to deployment on our own in house servers. Every eCommunity of the network is at or will be at any of those stages as it is scaled to match its growth.
Every website operator has one support path for every hosting related issue – Nositeunseen. The operating system, database, DNS, WordPress, plugins and theme are all the responsibility of Nositeunseen to address.
Conclusion: We have appreciated the opportunity to once again challenge ourselves, and our respects to the good folk at Beaver Builder for inspiring our review. Our belief is that what is true can withstand challenge, and what isn’t true must be challenged and changed. Opinions will certainly vary, but by all accepted defintion and aspects of service, Nositeunseen does provide hosting. And since we do 🙂 we invite you to:
